Shook’s work at the POET facility spans multiple phases, beginning with the original construction and continuing with an expansion to increase bin storage and material-offloading capacity.

During the initial construction, Shook simultaneously delivered two major industrial projects. Our team self-performed extensive concrete work, incorporated significant additional scope, and coordinated three second-tier subcontractors while maintaining the original schedule. Shook crews placed more than 14,000 cubic yards of concrete, installed 830 tons of reinforcing steel, and performed approximately 47,500 labor hours despite challenging winter conditions.

Based on the success of the initial work, Shook was selected for the facility expansion, which includes more than 7,000 cubic yards of concrete, 560 tons of reinforcing steel, and 29,500 planned labor hours. Through proactive coordination and strong field execution, the team continues to maintain schedule despite extreme heat and record rainfall.

Consistent communication and reliable performance continue to strengthen Shook’s relationship with the client and demonstrate our expertise in self-perform concrete construction for large-scale manufacturing projects.
