The Cuyahoga County Public Library Parma Heights Branch is a new one-story, standalone library designed to replace an outdated facility and better serve the evolving needs of the Parma Heights community. Developed as a modern community hub, the library provides residents with expanded access to books, technology, and collaborative learning spaces.
The facility includes four private study rooms, multiple meeting and innovation rooms, classrooms for the Inspire Space, and shell space designed to accommodate future programming needs. Site improvements included new parking areas, sidewalks, and accessibility enhancements to improve the visitor experience.
Delivered through the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) method, Shook provided preconstruction and construction management services from early planning through final completion. During preconstruction, the team established a comprehensive budget, selected qualified trade partners, and procured long lead-time materials early to help mitigate schedule risks. Throughout construction, Shook collaborated closely with trade partners and project stakeholders to identify challenges early and maintain steady progress.
The completed library provides Cuyahoga County Public Library with a modern, flexible, and welcoming facility that fosters learning, creativity, technology access, and community connection for years to come.
