The Macy’s Data Center UPS Enhancements project improved the reliability and resiliency of the facility’s critical infrastructure through the construction of three new electrical rooms designed to provide redundant power to the existing data center.
The renovation included demolition and abatement, raised access flooring, security upgrades, pre-action fire protection with VESDA smoke detection, new CRAC and CRAH cooling systems, and upgraded commercial power service. Electrical improvements included a new generator, automatic transfer switches (ATS), UPS systems, transformers, and dual-feed network power to strengthen system redundancy and operational continuity.
Additional work included the construction of new mechanical storage space and office areas for local staff.
Completed in just eight months, the project successfully modernized the facility while enhancing reliability, safety, and performance for mission-critical operations.
