Milestone at Siler City Wastewater Treatment Plant

Siler City Progress Update

Projects

You could say the Siler City Wastewater Treatment Plant is being “set in stone,” as our project teams and trade partners are making great progress, including finishing all structural concrete work.

Shook is serving as the general contractor for this improvement project at the Siler City, N.C., facility. Several municipalities and entities — Siler City, the City of Sanford, N.C., and TriRiver Water — are collaborating on this transformative project, which will increase water capacity for the growing region and improve discharged water quality.

Project teams also recently have:

  • Begun installation of equipment for a new clarifier at the site, which joins two others that will be rehabbed.
  • Installed three disc filters.
  • Taken delivery of major equipment that will be installed in the coming weeks.

The team also will soon begin converting an oxidation ditch to a Biological Nutrient Removal system beneficial to the plant’s processes.

Even with the cold weather and snowfall in the South this winter, our crews have kept the project moving forward and went above and beyond to help the client navigate unexpected weather hurdles.

We’re excited to see the impact this project will have on the region.
