Mission Global
We are fortunate to have exceptional resources, and each day we work hard to build the infrastructure necessary to improve the communities we serve. There are, however, those around the world who struggle every day for the necessities we take for granted – clean water, healthcare, education, and communication – the same essentials that we work to deliver on the projects we build. It is ingrained in Shook’s culture to assist those in need, to have the courage to step outside our comfort zone, and do good for others. Our Global Mission Trips send a group of Shook team members to a part of the globe where people truly lack the infrastructure that we can help provide. Not only does this outreach assist a struggling community, but it also instills a global perspective in our teams, further reinforcing our Core Values of Passionate, Authentic, Curious, and Empowering.
This program brings our Mission life. Shook has completed four Global Mission Trips to date. We believe our responsibility to serve extends beyond the communities where we live, work, and play. Through our Global Mission Trip program, we partner with communities in developing nations to improve lives and further our commitment To Dramatically Improve the Communities We Serve.
2026 Mission Trip
Parramos, Guatemala
Shook Construction partnered with Hope for Home in March 2026 to support its work in Parramos, Guatemala. Hope for Home provides holistic care — medical, educational, and spiritual — to children with disabilities and their families in rural communities. With growing needs and limited facilities, the organization is expanding its campus to better serve more children.
Shook teammates contributed to the construction of a retaining wall that was a crucial first step to new therapy and living spaces. Hope for Home’s work supports an environment where children can receive the care, support, and dignity they deserve.
2024 Mission Trip
Wiang Pa Pao, Thailand
Shook Construction sent 10 associates to northern Thailand in February 2024 to help build a new girls’ home for Grace Refuge Outreach Worldwide (GROW). Located in Wiang Pa Pao, the mission rescues at-risk children and equips them to impact their families and communities. GROW believes that the best way to stop child trafficking is prevention. Therefore, they work in the communities that are most at risk. With 28 children on campus, GROW was out of space to take in new children. Shook’s team helped construct a home that would allow GROW to rescue 12 more children from trafficking, abuse, and more.
2022 Mission Trip
Mucombeze, Mozambique
Shook partnered with SAM (Strategic Action Missions) Ministries Mozambique, a Canadian-based nonprofit organization. SAM operates the Mucombeze-Interior Primary School, a K-7 school serving over 400 children in rural Mozambique.
Our Shook team supported SAM Ministries and its work at the Mucombeze-Interior Primary School by building a new on-campus teacher dormitory to house additional staff that were added when the school recently expanded from K-5 to K-7. This two-room dormitory was masonry construction with a cementitious parge coat, wood timber roof support, and metal roofing.
2019 Mission Trip
Timusi, Bolivia
Our 2019 Global Mission Trip took Shook Construction to Timusi, Bolivia, where our team helped change the lives of the people in this small town by vastly improving their water system. The team dug trenches and laid PVC water pipes from the top of a mountain with clean spring water, which then ran to every home and the school.

“We thought we were going to build a wall in Guatemala, but what we really built was relationships. Relationships among ourselves. Relationships with the Guatemalan construction workers. Relationships with the kids, and relationships with the partner organization. Those kids and the smiles on their faces, whether we were on the trampoline with them or taking them for walks, or reading them books, or tossing balls back and forth — I’ll never forget those faces.”

“Our team was impacted immensely in Thailand. It didn’t take us long to become immersed in the Thai culture and experience the hospitality and high spirits of the people. Encountering the joy of the 28 children on GROW’s campus, while hearing the traumatic stories of their hardships, deeply affected us. They come from villages without water and electric, and with minimal access to education and healthcare. Despite the sufferings they endured, they live each day with hope and faith. It meant so much to be a small part of their story and know we are creating more room for future children to be rescued.”
