Work has largely wrapped up at the City of Dayton’s Total Phosphorus Treatment Project!
The project was designed to facilitate NPDES Nutrient Removal Compliance with the addition of a new Chemical Feed System to be piped to the existing aeration process. This new system includes 7 ea Chemical Bulk Storage Tanks, associated pumps and piping and new chemical delivery infrastructure. Due to additional solids processing needs and the age of the current Diffused Air Floatation (DAF) Tanks, the project scope was also designed to include removal and replacement of the 4 ea DAF Tanks with 4 ea Rotary Drum Thickeners, an associated Polymer System and new Thickened Waste Activated Sludge Pumps. Shook phased the construction of this project to prioritize the plant’s operations in the existing building.
