Shook Construction is pleased to announce its selection as construction manager of the new Gold Lot Parking Development at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. The project will kick off the transformative redevelopment program for Northeast Ohio’s most important transportation hub.
The new Gold Lot, with about 1,600 spaces, will be constructed adjacent to Concourse D and is the first major project in Cleveland Hopkins’ multi-year terminal modernization development program, known as CLEvolution.
Following the Gold Lot’s completion in late 2026 or early 2027, the next phases in the airport’s improvement program will commence.
“Our new Gold Lot marks the first tangible step in CLEvolution, our multi-phase journey to modernize the airport. We’re proud to partner with Shook Construction on this foundational project, which improves parking capacity as well as landside access and sets the stage for the transformative phases ahead at CLE,” said Bryant L. Francis, Director of Port Control.
Shook has partnered with Passero Associates and HEAPY for the design-build of the Gold Lot.
“We’re thrilled to kick off Cleveland Hopkins’ modernization plan and grateful to our amazing partners on this project,” said Matt Danis, Shook Vice President and Great Lakes Regional Manager. “As Shook approaches our 100-year anniversary in 2026, we’re not only reflecting on what we’ve accomplished, but are focusing on how we can continue to make a meaningful impact on the region into our next 100 years. We’re proud to contribute to this transformational plan for Northeast Ohio.”
As the construction manager of the inaugural step of Cleveland Hopkins’ multi-year redevelopment plan, Shook also will set the standard for bringing a positive impact to the community throughout the construction process. By working with the City of Cleveland and through partnerships, Shook will maximize opportunities for local workers and small businesses, bringing a positive economic impact to the region. The company also will offer educational and mentoring opportunities, empowering local students.
“Shook’s Mission is ’To Dramatically Improve the Communities We Serve,’ ” Danis said. “This project — both in terms of contributing to the region’s future and building up our communities now — is in sync with what Shook is all about. We’re grateful for the opportunity to be part of CLEvolution and work with our partners to bring a positive impact to the region today and for years to come.”
Design work for the Gold Lot project will start immediately, with construction starting early next year.
