March 18, 2026 Mission
NCAA’s March Madness is underway in Dayton, and our team kicked things off with an exciting Big Hoopla Event.
Over 20 Shook teammates volunteered at the Big Hoopla STEM Challenge that leads up to the NCAA's First Four games in Dayton. Hundreds of K-8 students learned about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through interactive, hands-on demonstrations. Our team introduced the participants to various principles of construction, including concrete formwork, electrical circuits, water tower engineering, equipment operation, structural concepts, and more.
“Volunteering at The Big Hoopla STEM Challenge fills our team at Shook with pride and optimism for the future,” shared Project Scheduler Blake Perkins. “Every time we connect with students, we see their curiosity ignite. It’s a powerful reminder that even small actions, like creating a safe and fun space to explore construction, can plant early seeds of inspiration. These moments help shape tomorrow’s innovators, builders, and problem solvers.”
Thank you to our many teammates who generously dedicated their time to live our Mission, To Dramatically Improve the Communities We Serve.
