On Thursday, October 24, Shook Construction celebrated the groundbreaking of the Siler City Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements project. This $62M upgrade is a collaboration from numerous municipalities – Siler City, Sanford, and TriRiver Water – who were in attendance to celebrate the major milestone.
“[…to sum this project up in one word], important.” – Donald Matthews, Mayor of Siler City
Shook Construction is the General Contractor for this notable project, designed by McGill Associates, PA, which will expand the current plant to support the community’s growth and provide needed improvements to the treatment system to benefit the health of local residents. Key highlights include:
“We are thrilled to be a part of the project and growth of the region,” said Ryan Levesque, Shook’s Director of Operations for the Mid-Atlantic Region. “It will be rewarding to bring new jobs to the area to support the construction and to extend a hand through community service as we live our Mission, To Dramatically Improve the Communities We Serve.”
With construction underway, Shook looks forward to the work ahead. “We’re ready to get to work!” exclaimed Senior Project Manager Matt Donovan. “Our crews have started preparing the site for the initial bypasses and reroutes to clear the way for the major operations that will be the backbone of the upgrade. It will be an exciting 30 months, with work anticipated to be complete in 2027.”
