Progress update: NEORSD's Westerly CEHRT project

NEORSD's Westerly CEHRT project

Teams are making significant strides at NEORSD's Westerly Chemically Enhanced High-Rate Treatment (CEHRT) project along the Lake Erie shore in Cleveland. The important project aids in adding capacity at the plant, which in turn will help prevent overflows into the lake.

Milestones include:

  • All structural concrete — about 25,000 cubic yards — is compete.
  • All process equipment and pumps have been installed. This includes 16 tanks of chain and flight; 42 stainless-steel slide gates; 2 drain pumps; 3 NPW pumps.
  • All chemical systems and equipment have been installed, including polymer mixers, blending units and diffusers; chemical rapid induction mixers, and storage tanks; and about 28,000 linear feet of PVC and CPVC piping.

Our teams currently are going through testing phases at the plant, which serves more than 107,000 residents.
