October 4, 2023 Mission
During our Shook mission trip to Mozambique to serve with SAM Ministries in 2022, our teammates were introduced to little Amelia. She was a 17-month-old girl who came to the clinic one morning suffering from extreme malnutrition. Despite hanging on for several days, they were devastated to learn that Amelia ultimately lost her fight against hunger.
Returning home, they created the Amelia Walk to End Hunger to raise funds for SAM Ministries' feeding program and awareness of the threat that hunger poses to our global community. Last weekend, the group and their families gathered for their Second Annual Walk and have raised over $3,000 for the cause this year to date.
We are proud of them for making the best of this tragedy and for truly embodying our Shook Mission, To Dramatically Improve the Communities We Serve.
