100 Acts of Service: Acts 14-18

100 Acts of Service

Our teams have been busy supporting our communities as Shook celebrates 100 Acts of Service for 100 Years of Service! To honor our 100-Year Anniversary, Shook teams are completing 100 Acts of Service throughout 2026 as our way of giving back to the communities that have supported us along the way.

Here’s a quick update on Acts 14–18:

  • As part of our commitment to supporting workforce development, Great Lakes teammates met with students from the Latino Construction Program. Students were introduced to key aspects of the construction industry and learned how to interpret blueprint drawings.
  • Central team members partnered with Walbridge to assist a senior citizen in need in Indiana. The team rebuilt her driveway by regrading it, placing new stone, and creating a small parking area.
  • A 10-member Shook Mission Trip team, representing each of our regions, traveled to Parramos, Guatemala, to partner with Hope For Home, a nonprofit dedicated to serving children with disabilities and their families. Working alongside local contractors, the team built a retention wall as part of new therapy and living space that will serve up to 15 children.
  • Our Great Lakes teams working on the Piping Rock project hosted a job site tour for students from the Latino Construction Program. The tour gave participants a firsthand look at construction operations and highlighted progress at the site.
  • More than 20 Shook teammates volunteered at the Big Hoopla STEM Challenge leading up to the NCAA’s First Four games in Dayton. Hundreds of K–8 students explored science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through hands-on demonstrations, with our team introducing construction principles such as concrete formwork, electrical circuits, water tower engineering, and equipment operation.

Follow along as we complete 100 Acts of Service for 100 Years of Service in 2026.
