Our Culture of Care
At Shook, safety is more than a priority — it’s a commitment to the well-being of our people. That commitment extends beyond the jobsite and into how we support our teammates throughout their careers.
We foster a culture of care that encourages professional growth, supports personal well-being, and provides resources for teammates and their families when they need them most. Whether you’re an experienced professional, skilled tradesperson, or just starting your career, you’ll find opportunities to learn, grow, and build a meaningful future with a team that genuinely looks out for one another.
Because when our people thrive, so do our projects, our communities, and our company.
Shook Employee Programs
We offer a robust learning and development program that offers a diverse range of content for continuing learning throughout your career.
Shook teammates pair with new hires to help them navigate the logistics, culture, challenges, and opportunities in their first year.
We create learning pathways for operational team members to help them learn the skills needed to elevate their careers.
We equip leaders with the skills to guide and support others through this leadership training program, which includes multiple levels offered through one-year cohorts.
This employee resource group focuses on professional development for teammates with less than 10 years of industry experience through peer support, networking, and more.
Shook values the well-being and health of our teammates. Our wellness program offers resources and helpful information so they can live their healthiest lives.

Our Core Values
“My time at Shook has been a great experience. There are so many great people and opportunities. The positive attitudes, the willingness to provide guidance, and commitment to sharing knowledge all make Shook such an enjoyable place to work. Shook’s Core Values of Curiosity, Authenticity, Passion, and Empowerment really speak to me, too, and we all take pride in them. Shook is more than just a place of work. With employee activities and involvement in our communities, the company feels more like a family.”
Angell I., Project Engineer
“The best part of my job is the people I get to work with. Shook has built a culture that encourages honesty, compassion, and strong partnerships — both internally and externally. The teams I work with provide exposure to a variety of unique projects and challenges, while also giving me valuable insight into different approaches to project management and problem-solving. Every experience provides an opportunity to learn and grow. Over the past three-plus years, I've built countless connections and created lasting memories. The relationships I've developed here, along with the talented and supportive people I work alongside, are what make Shook such a special place.”
Blake P., Scheduler
"There's a strong sense of shared purpose at Shook. Everyone, regardless of their role, contributes to the success of a project and takes pride in delivering the best possible outcome for our clients. That kind of purpose is difficult to manufacture, but at Shook it's ingrained in the culture, and it grows stronger every day. It's one of the things that makes our teams so successful and makes me proud to be part of the company."
Alex T., MEP Construction Coordinator
“The people at Shook are hardworking, knowledgeable, and always willing to help and listen to one another to reach a common goal of quality and safety. Everyone takes pride in what they do, and there’s a real family mentality on every job site I’ve been on. The support for field workers — from HR and office staff to senior leadership — is unlike any company I’ve worked for.”
