MASSILLON WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT EXPANSION

This project involved a comprehensive upgrade and expansion of the existing plants treatment process and capacity. The primary change in treatment process was the conversion of the existing aeration system to biological reactors using an Integrated Fixed Film Activation Slude process. Additional upgrades including new screw pumps at the headworks station, upgrades to the chemical feed system and a new 27MGD effluent pump station.

CITY OF SIDNEY WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT IMPROVEMENTS

Upgrade to existing wastewater treatment facility to enhance wet weather capacity. The scope included modifications to existing wet weather basin for capacity and enhanced chemical feed system, new areation, new UV disinfection, rehabilitation of existing anaerobic digesters and a new standby power generator system to power the entire plant during an electrical service interruption.

ZANESVILLE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT

This project included improvements to the primary treatment including two new grit collector tanks and grit dewatering, high-rate treatment mixing tank and chemical feed, rehabilitation of primary sludge pumping station and sludge drawoff well, new primary splitter box and of primary sludge pumping station and sludge drawoff well, new preimary splitter box and new 72’ diameter primary clarifier, and installation of new collector mechanisms in two each 72’ diameter primary clarifiers. Improvement to the secondary treatment included new solids contact tank and blower building, new 115’ diameter secondary clarifier, and new RAS/WAS pumping facility.

This project achieved compliance with enhanced EPA guidelines by converting the existing chlorine gas treatment process to a safer and more environmentally friendly sodium-hypochlorite process. The work involved significant demo to accommodate the new system and a highly phased approach to maintain operations throughout the project.
