MARKETING CONTENT MANAGER

In this cross functional position, you will be responsible for developing content to support the company's strategic marketing initiatives including brand awareness and positioning across multiple channels both internally and externally. YOUR ROLE AT SHOOK CONSTRUCTION

KEY INFORMATION

  • Work with a cross-section of internal and external teammates as lead content developer for all internal and external communications platforms such as website, social media, newsletters, press releases and blog posts. This will include but not be limited to impactful, detailed stories about our people, projects, and community engagement efforts.
  • Drive the development of content strategy and editorial calendar.
  • Develop + maintain content to populate marketing information database (past, current, and future project writeups and images; employee resumes, etc.).
  • Maintain tone of voice consistent with Shook brand standards.
  • Contribute to events including conference, tradeshows and more.
  • Lead public relations/media relations and crisis management programs.
  • Develop storytelling content such as photography, video projects and podcasts. Personal photography, video and/or podcast production skills are an added benefit but not a requirement.
  • Lead the content development for project award submittals.
  • Be a proactive teammate by staying on top of emerging trends in our market and ecosystem and keeping a pulse on the competition in key usage areas.
  • Support interview pitches by developing or enhancing content for pursuits.
  • Provide editing and proof-reading support to business units.
  • Have a willingness to roll up your sleeves and pitch-in wherever needed to best help the team and organization.
  • 10+ years of experience in the A/E/C industry preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in marketing, communications, journalism, or English.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills that promote a collaborative team environment and interact effectively at all levels within the organization.
  • Superior skill level + experience using MS Office 2010, various graphics and presentation programs including but not limited to the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills with a hands-on and team-oriented attitude.
  • Experience with CRM platforms a bonus

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years (10 preferred) in the field or related area
    • Experience in the architectural/engineering/construction industry ideal
Language Skills:

Clear verbal and written communication skills.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Special Skills:

Demonstrated knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures of marketing or related field.

Ability and willingness to learn new applications. Demonstrated creative ability. Clear and demonstrated knowledge of graphic design standards, practice and applications. Success motivated. Willingness to support internal and external customers.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat and Illustrator.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record.  Motor Vehicle report required.

Physical Demands:

Occasionally must stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and climb and balance.  Must be able to talk, hear, taste and smell and use hands to finger, handle and feel.  Seldom may have to stoop, crouch or crawl.  May need to occasionally lift up to 10 lbs. The following are the vision requirements for the job: physical, close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The intent is for the position to be based at our corporate headquarters in Moraine, Ohio. We are open to filling the role out of our Cleveland office if preferred by the selected candidate.
