JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for overall coordination of functions associated with estimating including specification review, cost review, scheduling, risk assessment, and other related duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Work with the Preconstruction Manager/VP-Precon Services to establish bid team with assignments.
Coordinating bond requirements with VP-Precon Services.
Scheduling pre-bid requirements.
Manage the bid solicitation process.
Coordinate and manage of MBE/WBE requirements.
Creating the Timberline estimate for input of items by the bid team.
Review specifications, drawings and amendments to determine scope of work.
Identify project risk and potential impacts.
Attend Pre-bid meetings.
Review GC’s, site logistics, schedule, & scopes of work.
Thoroughly review project plans and specifications and coordinate with teams for complete scope.
Perform comprehensive quantity takeoffs utilizing associated labor, material, and equipment cost breakdowns.
Analyze and secure costs for project specified items.
Preparation of the pre-bid construction schedule.
Organize and Participate in Drawing / Estimate Reviews.
Responsible for designating a bid runner.
Develop late bid sheet.
Analyze alternative means and methods to determine best value to the project.
Assist with the direction of bid day requirements.
Perform post bid analysis.
Define and manage scope review process.
Coordinate and assist with project hand-off meetings.
Participate in Pre-Construction services type work such as budgeting, design meetings and value engineering services.
Assist and participate in presentations with clients.
Visit project sites to determine construction methods.
Builds and maintains relationships with key subcontractors, suppliers and clients.
Manages the collection and archiving of cost history and the maintenance of the Estimating Software Database
Work with Preconstruction Manager/VP-Precon to update and improve the cost database.
Evaluate industry cost trends.
Analyze and generate cost history components for successful projects.
Review, train and manage work prepared by Project Estimators.

Position reports to: Vice President – Preconstruction Services
Position indirectly reports to: Market Channel Leaders and Preconstruction Manager
Reasons for indirect reporting relationship: Coordination of estimating responsibilities and resource management
Directly reporting to this position are: None
Indirectly reporting to this position is: Project Estimator, Preconstruction Coordinator, Co-op/Intern, Project Manager, Project Superintendent and Project Engineer.
Reasons for indirect reporting relationship: Functional assignments as they relate to estimating various projects.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
5 or more years of estimating experience in construction industry
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency with office equipment, computers and various PC software programs and knowledge of estimating software.
Other Skills
Well-organized, self-motivated and able to proficiently perform duties with little supervisory guidance
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record. Motor Vehicle report required.
Physical Demands:
Medium amount of physical exertion. Medium manual dexterity or physical manipulation. Medium level of physical stamina and endurance. Maintain regular and punctual attendance, work overtime as assigned, travel overnight as required and comply with all company policies and procedures including safety.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
