White River North WTP Project is Underway Shook Construction is under a $4.9 million contract with the City of Indianapolis to construct the White River North Water Treatment Plant Ultraviolet (UV) Disinfection Facility.The bulk of the project is constructing the UV Building which includes a below grade wet well, vertical turbine pumps, UV disinfection equipment, and fabricated steel pipe up to 48” in diameter. In addition, the project includes installing 48” and 72” prestressed concrete cylinder pipe (PCCP) and upgrading the powdered activated carbon system and plant control system. The biggest challenge will be the 10-month project schedule. However, the Shook project team is eager to tackle this challenge head on and is presently on track to complete this project by March 2012! The Shook project team consists of Mike Cregar (project superintendent), Riley Tolen (project engineer), and Vince Schwartz (project manager), among other cast and crew members who will contribute to the project’s successful completion.
