Verizon Wireless at Lewis Center
Shook recently began work on a new Mission Critical project for Verizon Wireless at their Lewis Center Regional Network Center (RNC) facility, just northwest of Columbus, Ohio. We are providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural upgrades to prepare for added capacity to the existing 48,000 SF facility.
The scope of work includes the following: upgrades to the existing main-tie-main electrical distribution system; installation of new automatic and manual transfer switches in a newly renovated space; two new 1250kw generators; fuel delivery systems and the necessary infrastructure (site/civil) to maintain this equipment; installation of CRAC units, air handling units, duct work and building system control upgrade. Also included are extensive auxiliary iron upgrades and structural support platforms in several locations to meet the anticipated requirements of the future expansion. In addition, general architectural upgrades and limited site work outside of the building will be included.
Shook has performed over $300 million in mission critical work over the last several years and is consistently ranked as one of the top telecommunication contractors in the nation according to Engineering News-Record.
