Toledo Data Center

This project called for the renovation of an existing 5200 SF building space to create an environment suitable for data center equipment. Infrastructure changes included major structural building modifications to accommodate the weight of the new data equipment, UL rated wall partitions, acoustical ceilings, epoxy flooring and painting, a heavy duty raised flooring system, structural supports and racking for the new equipment. Mechanical work included the installation of two 50 ton Trane chilled water air handling units, supply and return air ductwork and louvers, humidification systems, and an Andover DDC temperature control system to monitor and control the space environment.

The electrical and grounding system included two 150 KVA Liebert/Emerson uninterrupted power supply systems, emergency automatic transfer switching equipment which tied into and existing generator system, lightning protection, emergency shutdown system, grounding and bonding grids, antenna conduit and mast installation. The challenge in any data center setting lies in controlling things like temperature, building pressures, moisture, dust and vibration, which can prove very difficult in a construction environment.
