Shook RJE Awarded Their First Federal Project

The Shook RJE joint venture is proud to announce that we have been awarded our first federal project: the construction of a joint services lodging facility at the Youngstown Air Force Reserve Station in Vienna, Ohio.  Administered by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District, the $8.8 million construction project will seek to obtain LEED silver certification.

Originally built in 1953, the existing structure houses 76 rooms, 65 of which are used for double occupancy. The new three-story facility will replace the existing structure, providing a total of 338 lodging rooms required to meet current base and joint use (Naval and Marine Reserves) requirements. Designed as a “campus” setting, the new structure will provide aesthetically pleasing and functional facilities while maximizing force protection opportunities

Forming a mentor-protégé relationship 21 months ago, Shook Construction and Raymond Jackson Enterprises (RJE) earned their 8(a) small business designation with the Small Business Administration.  This unique joint venture is providing RJE the opportunity to expand the scope of their services while being backed by a firm with more than 84 years of experience in the industry.  Our Joint Venture targets opportunities in the healthcare, technology, water resource and industrial markets that will enable us to expand the resume and capacity of RJE and its personnel.
