Shook Nominated for National Safety Award!

Shook’s corporate commitment to safety has been recognized again. The Ohio chapter of AGC (Associated General Contractors) recognized Shook’s continuous effort with its Construction Safety and Excellence Award (CSEA) for the Heavy Division with 300,001-700,000 man hours. As a recipient of this award, the AGC of Ohio submitted Shook Construction as its nominee for consideration to receive the AGC National Safety Award in this category.
The Ohio award was based on company management commitment, active employee participation, safety training, work site hazard identification and control, and safety program innovation.
CSEA recognizes those construction companies that do well carrying out their safety programs. CSEA has evaluated each participant's commitment to safety, occupational health management, and risk control. Shook strives to eliminate hazardous conditions that may cause harm to anyone working on our construction sites, in our offices, or in any other facility under our care and custody. It is an honor that the judges recognize Shook’s continuous effort to keep employees safe.
This award is a tribute to all Shook’s employees because we believe that safety is the responsibility of every employee and we emphasize that no task is too small to be performed safely!
With the committed support of management, Shook’s safety program is led by Joe Reich, Director of Safety and Risk Management, and Safety Coordinator, Mike Behnken. These safety experts make hundreds of jobsite visits each year performing safety audits and conducting safety classes on jobsites and in centralized classrooms. Their leadership is collaborative, contagious and permeates our project teams.
We have created the environment where our employees can come to work knowing their ability to go home in the same condition is a way of life and not just a wish.
Shook lives the culture that “Safely is the only way to work!”
