Shook Feeding the Hungry in Indianapolis
Did you know one in eight people, about 12.9%, in the State of Indiana live in poverty (Census Bureau)? The elderly, working lower class, and children were the ones hit the hardest during the recent economic crisis. With the poverty on the rise, hunger has been a definite aftershock.
Shook’s Indianapolis office joined efforts with Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana to fight the statewide hunger crisis, by volunteering at the food bank.
As donations of food were given to the bank, the team sorted and prepared boxes of food. They discarded damaged and expired food. All of the food that the team prepared that day was donated to the senior citizens of Indianapolis and the local communities.
