Sinclair Community College LRC
The Learning Resource Center is a 113,000 SF underground library with classrooms and office space spread out over two levels and located in the heart of campus with no direct street access. The 35 year old facility was long overdue for major renovations to its mechanical and electrical systems and in need of a general face lift. To bring the LRC up to the desired technological standards meant that miles of conduit would be required for data and telecommunications. The conduit location had to be closely coordinated at the concrete beam crossings to maintain the 8 FT finished ceiling height of the hallways. This also posed a challenge for routing the new HVAC duct work, which required daily coordination with all trade contractors. In all, over 62,000 lbs. of air handling equipment was installed in the underground facility. The project also required more than 165,000 LF of wire, 40,000 LF of conduit, and 1,100 LF of cable tray. This project was a Build Ohio Finalist.
