Shook is Awarded Two Major out of State Projects

With an eye towards expansion, Shook was recently awarded two major out of state projects within our water resource business:

The $27MM Crescent Hill WTP Filter and Backwash Improvements in Louisville, KY consists of new filter backwash pumps/piping/valves, the replacement of filter media and under drains as well as new air scour blowers, piping and valves. We will completely remove the filter building roof and precast deck and replace it with a new metal deck and built up roof. We will also perform lead abatement of paint on existing structural steel and strengthen some existing masonry walls via GFRP reinforcement and structural steel.

The $14MM Lower Jackson River Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant in Iron Gate, VA will consist of a new 2.6-mgd enhanced nutrient removal wastewater treatment plant consisting of a headworks building, reactor basins, clarifiers, a sludge handling system, ultraviolet disinfection, and laboratory/control building.

Shook's pursuit and successful award on these projects reflects a continued expansion of Shook's geographic footprint. Although we have previously performed work in Kentucky, Virginia and West Virginia, our organization intends to continue to enhance our presence in these areas as well as other surrounding states. We are excited at the future opportunities that these markets hold.
