Shook Employees Continue to
Show Expertise and Leadership

Shook's leadership on the construction site is matched by our willingness to share our expertise within our communities and to devote individual time and leadership to the associations that support the construction industry.

Our leadership in the areas of corporate ethics and diversity was recognized when Shook President Bill Whistler was asked to participate in separate panel discussions on each matter. Additionally, Marketing Coordinator Linda Collins and Indianapolis Office Manager Christina Friend were each recognized for their leadership in key organizations that support our industry.

Corporate Ethics and Diversity Leadership
Bill was a panelist at the American Institute of Constructors (AIC) national convention participating in an open discussion on business ethics. The forum covered many topics including human resources, social media, and subcontractor solicitation. The panel was well attended and created lively discussion.

Subsequent to the AIC panel, Bill participated in a panel discusion at the Greater Akron Supplier Diversity Conference relating Shook's experience in prequalification, contract and payment terms, estimating practices, and upcoming work opportunities for minority contractors in the greater Akron area.

Mentoring Future Leaders
Linda was recognized by the Columbus chapter of the Society of Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) with their Above and Beyond the Call of Duty (ABCD) award, which recognizes volunteers who exceed the expectations with their support of the chapter. Linda was nominated by chapter members for her leadership and extra effort in mentoring candidates for the Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) designation, the society's top professional certification.
