Crown Finished Water Reservoir
The Crown finished water reservoir has a 17.6 million gallon capacity, which is thought to be the largest underground post tensioned finished water reservoir in the world. The base slab, baffle walls, and roof are all post-tensioned. Shook's contract included concrete and steel water conduits between the existing treatment facility and the new reservoir. We placed over thirty thousand yards of concrete in just eight months. The project also included reservoir dewatering and underdrain pumps; tunnel shafts with 108 inch steel piping; electrical work; instrumentation and controls. The project won both Build Ohio and Build America Awards from the Associated General Contractors of America. |
