Staff Accountant I - AP

Job Purpose

Responsible for all activities required to process invoices and payments in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain accurate and complete records of all accounts payable transactions. Assist with other functions within the accounting department as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process invoices and route for approval in Paperless Environment.
  • Import approved invoices and write checks in Viewpoint.
  • Maintain accurate accounts payable files.
  • Set up, monitor and process timely all recurring accounts payable payments.
  • Process prepared JV & intercompany invoices through accounts payable.
  • Process daily special check requests, monthly fringe and tax payments.
  • Maintain, balance and pay timely corporate accounts (credit cards, UPS, etc.).
  • Respond to phone calls from vendors and Shook employees to resolve accounts payable questions and problems.
  • Balance vendor statements monthly
  • Assist other staff accountant(s) to maintain accuracy of processing, consistent workflow and timely problem resolution
