Brecksville Data Center

This project involved major renovation of the existing building space and infrastructure to provide a new building environment suitable for the 10,108 SF data center. Mechanical work included the installation of two 40 ton Trane DX air handling units and condensers, two large 19,000 CFM return fans, supply and return air ductwork and louvers, humidification system, and an Andover DDC temperature control system to monitor and control the space environment. The electrical and grounding system included several critical utility shutdowns to make way for the new electrical system.

The back up power system included two 225 KVA Liebert/Emerson uninterrupted power supply systems, an emergency automatic transfer switching equipment which tied into and existing generator system, lightening protection, emergency shutdown system, grounding and bonding grids, antenna conduit and mast installation. The difficulty factors on this project included an extremely demanding project schedule and the need to perform the work without interruption to the existing office environment or its numerous tenants. As with any data center, major challenges also included controlling the building temperature, pressure, moisture, dust and vibration.
